Welcome to Career and Technical Education in Transylvania County!

The Mission of Career & Technical Education (CTE) is to help empower students for effective participation in an international economy as world-class workers and citizens. Transylvania County Schools believes that every child can and will be successful and that all our children will someday take his or her place as a productive and working citizen. We encourage completion of a combined sequence that will provide each student successful opportunities for the future.

Transylvania County utilizes a Performance and Planning Management System (PPMS) as its vehicle for strategic planning, managing performance, and being accountable at local, state, and federal levels for WDE. The PPMS also is a management operating system (OS) based on Continuous Improvement for Performance Excellence. The PPMS may be viewed by all stakeholders by logging in as guest for both username and for password.

Career Pathways

There are ten career pathways utilized in planning for post-high school success for all students. These pathways are based upon community college majors and/or college/university majors. The high school focus stems from the community college titles within the majors that are supported with courses in the high school. Counselors, teachers, administrators, parents, and community leaders provide career development information. With this assistance, students make choices that are based on current and reliable career information.
