Jessica Rhodes Brevard Elementary Preschool Prek 2018-19 Greetings Families!

My name is Jessica Rhodes. I have been teaching for many years and love the minds of young children. Born and raised in Western North Carolina, I am happy to call the mountains home. I am married with two little boys. My children are three and six, and being their mom is one of the greatest experiences of my life. As a family, we love camping, swimming, and exploring the woods and trails we are surrounded by.

It is a pleasure to be a part of Brevard Elementary and work for the new Preschool Program in Transylvania County Schools! I look forward to serving not only your child, but the needs of your families as well. Together, we will create a successful partnership as we lead your child through this new adventure of learning.

It is my goal to create hands-on learners and instill a love and passion for new experiences, in order to help my students become lifelong learners. I will do my best to make your child – above anything else – feel loved and appreciated. I will also encourage, challenge, and support your child. I believe that learning during the early years is a partnership, and together we create a plan that will engage and excite students.  Making little moments count will be the highest priority while your child is in my classroom.

Through our partnership during your child’s experience in the preschool program, communication will be key. If you ever have questions or concerns about your child, please feel free to contact me, or stop in for a chat. My classroom will always be open to parents and volunteers, because as we all know it takes a village to raise a child.

I look forward to getting to know each and every family and am very excited for this new adventure.

    Christine Brown
    Rosman Elementary School

Christine Brown Rosman Elementary Preschool Prek 2018-19 Dr. Seuss is known for saying, “To the world, you may be one person; but to one person, you may be the world”... and it is with that in mind, that I walk into the classroom each day.

I am Christine Brown, Preschool Teacher at Rosman Elementary and a native of Transylvania County.  I have had the pleasure of teaching across several different grade levels. I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education and began teaching at Brevard Elementary in 5th grade.

I went on to teach 1st grade and then preschoolers with special needs.  With that position, I also began teaching and training teachers and volunteers working with preschool age children.

My latest efforts have been in special education with middle school students at Rosman Middle where I added several certifications to my licensure.

In addition to being a teacher, I am also a wife and a mom to three active boys.  You will find me on the sidelines of a soccer field, baseball field, track, or basketball court.  In our time off the fields, we enjoy campfires, kayaking, and game nights. I look forward to opening the doors to “The Cubhouse” in August where we will explore, play, laugh, and learn in the most creative of ways.

Angie Adcock Pre-School Teacher T.C. Henderson School of Science & Technology My name is Angie Adcock, and I will be teaching Pre-K at T.C. Henderson Elementary School this fall. This is my sixth year teaching, and I have previously taught Kindergarten and First Grade, all at T.C. Henderson.

Before becoming a classroom teacher, I was a substitute for five years, and a Teaching Assistant for two years. I graduated in 2012 from Western Carolina University with my Bachelor’s Degree. I am certified to teach Birth to Sixth Grade.

I have been married for 24 years, and I have four children. I am a native to this area and love the community that I live and teach in. I am super excited to teach Pre-K this year, and I am blessed to be a part of the Transylvania County School system.

Being in Kindergarten and First Grade for five years has given me a perspective of why Pre-K is so important for our little learners, in building that educational foundation and love of learning. It has also allowed me to gain experience and knowledge about where a Pre-K student should be by the end of the school year.

I have always set high expectations for my students. They seem to love the challenge and have never let me down. This is going to be a great year!
