NC School Report Cards

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Community Partners:

Using data from the 2022–2023 school year, Transylvania County Schools is happy to share information about your child's school.  At the school, district, and state levels, the data is accessible on student success, class size, school safety, school technology, instructional resources, and teacher quality.

During the 2022–2023 school year, children from Transylvania County made overall academic advances alongside students from the rest of the state.  88% of the schools in Transylvania County received an A, B, or C for performance, up from 67% the year before.  In Transylvania, two of the three high schools have exceeded growth, all of our middle schools exceeded growth, and all of the elementary met or exceeded growth.

According to the data from our district, student achievement is steadily rising.  This data provides a snapshot of our schools’ excellent teaching and student learning.  These numbers illustrate the dedication and commitment of our teachers, faculty, and staff.  The numbers will not demonstrate the availability of extracurricular activities, athletic programs, internships, and career preparation courses. After reading the material on this website, I urge you to speak with your child's principal or volunteer at one of our nine schools to learn more.

State Superintendent, Catherine Truitt, stated:  “It’s hard to overstate the impact of the pandemic, but teachers across North Carolina are working harder than ever to help students recover, and more importantly, advance in their learning. We owe them our gratitude for meeting this challenge to improve outcomes for students.”
Thank you for your continued support of Transylvania County Schools.
