Transylvania County Schools Cancels Out-of-State Travel, March 2020Out of concern for all our students, staff, families, and community, Transylvania County Schools has decided to cancel all out-of-state student trips effective Wednesday, March 11, 2020.

This difficult decision errs on the side of caution, due to the most recent events and the governor's announcement of a state of emergency for the state of North Carolina.

This immediately affects students preparing for school trips to Washington, DC, New York, NY, and Hobro, Denmark, cancelling those and any other out-of-state trips until further notice.

We are reviewing options for any trips out of Western North Carolina as well. Conditions are subject to rapid change, and new guidance is being provided continually by public health officials at the local, state, and national level.

Schools and the district office are working with all parties involved to resolve any financial concerns related to travel.

We will also continually update our main page for all health-related issues in our schools at
tcsnc.org/health, to include helpful resources for preventing risk, understanding our plans, and tracking information from reputable sources.
