Ms. Carrie Morrison

I am originally from Louisville, Kentucky and I went to UK for my Bachelor's degree (go, Wildcats!), so I am VERY happy to be in a school whose motto is "Go Big Blue." I went to UNC Charlotte for my graduate studies and got my Master of Arts in Education there. I have been teaching since 2004, when I started at East Henderson High School. I was an East Eagle for 12 years, and now I am thrilled to join the Blue Devil Family. We have a truly unique and caring staff, and the most talented, kind, wonderful students!

Before teaching, my background was in journalism, public relations, and marketing. I was involved in the disability community in Louisville, and during a stint as a substitute teacher, became inspired by the children I met who faced unimaginable challenges. I decided to go back to school and re-train as a teacher. I am also a singer/songwriter/pianist, and you might see me singing around town on the weekends.

My philosophy is that EVERY child, no matter their background, can grow relative to their starting point. Every child has the right to a quality public education in which they are expected to exceed their own expectations and address their challenges with strong outcomes in mind. Every child has a right to be well prepared for college and/or career with the support and structure of their school family.
