Tis the Season for Sickness

April Owenby, School Health Nurse, states that "illness and absences are on the rise all around the county.  We are seeing Flu, Strep Throat, Stomach Bug, Mono, and various cold viruses.  The best way to combat any of these illnesses is to encourage hand washing and to stay home or send student/staff home if they feel ill particularly if they have a temp. greater than 100.0.  Also, please remind students to not share food or drinks and to keep their hands away from their faces as this is how most germs enter the body.  Diligence in cleaning hard surfaces of common, shared spaces/objects can also be beneficial."
