Principal Donna Wilde is taking a leave of absence for personal reasons, and an interim principal has been named for Davidson River School to serve in her stead. Barbara Grimm will temporarily leave her role as instructional coach at Brevard Elementary School to serve as principal while Mrs. Wilde remains on leave.
Grimm is a certified school administrator with over 20 years teaching experience. She holds master’s and educational specialist degrees in educational administration, and joined Transylvania County Schools in 2016. She has been a regular contributor to the ‘Everyday Education’ column of the Transylvania Times.
During the interim, Instructional Coach Kim Moore from T.C. Henderson School of Science and Technology will assist at Brevard Elementary on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and half of Friday. Moore has been an instructional coach for two years, with over 15 years teaching experience in Buncombe County before joining Transylvania County Schools.
All these interim assignments go into effect Friday, September 14, 2018.
