TCS DIGITAL LEARNING RESOURCES
Ensuring the privacy and security of student data is a crucial challenge. In accordance with NC General Statute 115C, the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) and Public-School Units (PSUs) must safeguard student data. The rising use of digital resources for students has led vendors to seek access to student data or integration with statewide applications. These integrations are essential for classroom tools but expose education technology to increasing cybersecurity threats.
To enhance security measures, and aligned with NC Department of Information Technology (DIT) standards, the process ensures resources for evaluating vendor security readiness, compliance with state security standards, and a streamlined implementation of third-party applications for PSUs.
Transylvania County Schools is actively collaborating with NCDPI to ensure compliance with these security measures and contribute to the overall protection of student data.
If you would like to use a digital resource that is NOT listed above, please use this form to submit the names of apps or websites you would like considered for use with your students. After you submit the name of the website/app you're requesting, we will follow up with an answer at a later date.
