Transylvania County Schools is closely monitoring the impact of approximately a $169 million freeze in Federal funding due to an ongoing nationwide review by the U.S. Department of Education. The potential funding reduction of $227,000 for TCS affects key services in Federal Title funding that support instruction, Multilingual Learner (MLL) services, professional development for educators, and tuition reimbursement. We are closely monitoring the situation, advocating for our schools, and working with local, state and federal partners to minimize the impact on our system. We appreciate the continued support of our families, staff, and community as we navigate these uncertainties. Your voice matters—stay informed and advocate for strong public education funding.

Six of our talented music students along with BHS band director, Mr. Jimeson, had the opportunity to tour parts of Europe with the North Carolina Ambassadors of Music! From castles to cathedrals, and concert halls to cobblestone streets, they shared their love of music while experiencing the rich culture and history of several European countries, including France, Switzerland, Germany and Austria. Rosman High School's National Honor Society and Student Council students had the opportunity to travel to the Cayman Islands and work with National Children's Voluntary Organization; a nonprofit children's center. They worked on facilities and grounds, nutrition and with the children at the center.
