Brevard High School students took their learning beyond the classroom during Success Day, with a group from the school's OCS program dedicating their time to local community service.
At The COVE, the students helped prepare the emergency shelter for families in need. The group then traveled to Sapphire Ridge, where they spent quality time with residents and assisted the activities director. Their final stop was Brevard Church of God, where they completed additional service projects.
Through hands-on service projects, students gained valuable experience in teamwork and community engagement while making a positive impact on local organizations.

Student Art Spotlight 🎨
All of this great artwork was created by 3rd and 4th graders at Brevard Elementary School, and the community is taking notice! While making these pieces, students learned landscape techniques that included creating watercolor sunsets with black silhouettes in the foreground. They studied horizon lines, translucent vs. opaque paint, and how objects appear darker when closer to the viewer. The BES "Autumn Sunset Silhouettes" gallery was proudly displayed in the Transylvania County Schools board room, where many visitors have stopped by to admire the students' work.
Congratulations to these young artists!
