Julia Sherrill got 3rd place in the 50 free style
Josh Poche got 4th place in the 200 free style and 5th place in the 100 back
Women’s Medley Relay placed 11th
Women’s 400 Free Relay placed 5th
Overall the Women’s team placed 14th in the State
Overall the Men’s team placed 23rd in the State

The bus drivers are the first and last face of TCS that see students. The school bus is also the safest vehicle on the road for children. The spring cohort of TCS Let's Lead began this week, led by Chief Academic Officer, Carrie Norris. This leadership team will meet all semester to learn more about leadership styles and what makes Transylvania County Schools unique. In addition, they will collaborate to research and problem solve current barriers in education today.

Brevard Mayor Maureen Copelof read a proclamation at the Brevard City Council meeting that declares the month of February as Career and Technical Education awareness month. Career and Technical Education (CTE) empowers all students to be successful citizens, workers and leaders in a global economy. The Director of CTE for Transylvania County Schools, Kerry Putnam, along with teacher Laura Smith of BHS and students were present for the proclamation. #TCSYes

TCS Kindergarten teachers completed their first Spotlight Visit this week at Brevard Elementary School observing Mrs. Heather McCracken. Spotlight Visits are designed to allow teachers to learn from one another about instructional strategies, classroom environment and more. All elementary teachers will participate in a Spotlight Visit this year, under the guidance of Early Literacy Specialist, Mrs. April Barton.

Sixth grade BMS families gathered at Twin Dragons restaurant to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year. Students made lanterns, ate traditional foods and participated in Hong bao to learn about the Chinese culture. #TCSYes

The BHS Men's Cross Country 2A State Champions received their state rings at the half-time of the varsity men's basketball game. #TCSYes
Students at BMS gathered to compete in the Scripps Spelling Bee, a national contest. Each class held a previous spelling bee and the class representative moved onto the school spelling bee. Congratulations to BMS's Scripps Spelling Bee winner, Bryce, who will compete at the regional competition in March!
