This is National School Breakfast Week! Transylvania County Schools provides free breakfast for all children. Our Department of School Nutrition Services is committed to providing breakfast to our students that best meets their learning needs. Elementary schools offer breakfast in the classroom every morning. Middle and High Schools offer both Grab N' Go and hot breakfast bar options. Brevard Middle School Chamber Singers performed "Wade in the Water" concert last night celebrating Black History Month through songs written by African-American composers. TCS's own Janette Broda, Director of School Nutrition and assistant, Sophia Ogawa, shared at the NC Child Hunger Conference in Chapel Hill yesterday. The presentation was on their work serving meals "on the go" through our family pick-up sites and home delivery route this past summer and how our staff mobilized after Hurricane Helene to serve meals to the children in our community using the home delivery model. "We hope to have inspired other districts and community organizations to implement the same operation to reach more children during the summer months" said Broda. #TCSYes #TeachingEveryoneTakesEveryone

CTE Awareness Month: The BOB, or Big Orange Boutique, is more than just a school store; it is a hub of school spirit and creativity at Rosman High School. Run by the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) members, this boutique provides students with a chance to show their school pride through unique spirit wear while also providing funding for club endeavors!
